I spent most of the day hooking things together and researching some ideas for future implementation. I reached out to a few contractors, handymen, and service providers and asked them beta test the site – eg. take it for a test spin but also to register. Why not? It’s free! But most important for today was the installation of Google Tag Manager and the outbound link click monitoring.
I added the GTM outbound link click monitoring so I could demonstrate value (or lack thereof) of any listing on this site. It will also help me understand the seasonal cycle of the industry and how it affects homeowners. The whole point of this website is to provide relevant information about area contractors and their services to home owners in Vermont. I suspect that as the number of contractors grows, the challenge will be user-controlled filtering so they can find what they want quickly.
